Sinusitis – The initial amoxicillin dosage would be 250 mg to 500 mg by mouth 3 times per day for a period of 10 up to 14 days.  Alternatively, for serious infections, the patient can take 500 mg to 875 mg by mouth 2 times per day.  For recurrent or refractory cases of sinusitis, the doctor may recommend longer therapy courses of a specific amoxicillin dosage.

Pneumonia – The initial amoxicillin dosage would be 500 mg by mouth 3 times per day or 875 mg by mouth 2 times per day for a period of 7 up to 10 days.  Keep in mind that cases of mild pneumonia caused by pneumococcal organisms must be treated with the proper amoxicillin dosage.

Bacterial Infection – The initial amoxicillin dosage would be 250 mg to 500 mg by mouth 3 times per day for a period of 1 week up to 3 weeks.  Alternatively, for serious infections, the patient can take 500 mg to 875 mg by mouth 2 times per day.
